Fake Disney products racket busted by Mumbai Police

The licensing fraternity in India has been facing the onslaught of fake products and grey market which has led the brand owners to take strict measures for protecting their intellectual property.

While working in this direction Disney- the world’s popular entertainment brand is working closely with authorities to protect its intellectual property and brands.

As a part of its ongoing enforcement campaign in India, Mumbai Police officers recently conducted raids at the following five targets: Niva Bags, Capitol Bags and Return Gifts; National Bag House; Raj Bags; and Roshan’s the Bag Kingdom in Crawford Market.

In the action, the police seized more than 2000 counterfeit Disney products in total from all the stores and later arrested the offenders. The police is also conducting further investigations to identify the locations of manufacturers of counterfeit goods.

Sanjeet Mehta, Executive Director, Consumer Products of Disney India said that it is critical to protecting the integrity of products that bear the Disney brand name.
