When Sakshi’s Dream Turned Into a Nightmare
Sakshi always wanted to own a Michael Kors (MK) watch. Not a true watch-lover, but owning an MK was always on her mind.
She couldn’t resist the feeling of flaunting it on her wrist and just the mere thought of it made her smile. There was not even a single day, she did not browsed the internet and looked for various designs and varieties of her favourite designer brand.
Sakshi couldn’t hold her excitement when one day, she saw her desired watch online at 40% off. And goes without guessing, she immediately ordered it. The following two three days were extremely impatient as she was desperately waiting to catch a glimpse of her most awaited possession.
On receiving it the fourth day, she eagerly opened the parcel and saw a box with bold ‘MK’ written on it. The packaging did not appear very impressive to her but the excitement level was at its peak and she ignored it.
Unfortunately, the watch too did not turn out to be anything of what she expected!
It had tiny scratches on its dial and the colour had no sheen like the way it looked in the picture. She was way too discontented. In no time, she realized that the product was a counterfeit! All she had was a fake cheap replica of her favourite ‘MK.’
Sakshi immediately called the online seller but all her calls went unanswered. Next, she dropped a message on their social media page and complained about the product. The seller acknowledged the same and ensured that they would revert with a solution.
Even when three four days passed and she did not receive any communication from the seller’s side, she again dropped a message to them. But she noticed her messages were not getting delivered on the social media page.
Guess what! She was blocked from the seller and there was no other way to reach out to them.
The incident left her hopeless and heartbroken!
She still owns the watch, and ties it, not on her wrist but in a little box of her cabinet.
Sakshi’s incident teaches a valuable lesson to all of us. We should be very careful while shopping online and should go through user reviews before placing an order. We should always buy from authentic dealers and avoid buying expensive things online as the chances of receiving counterfeit goods are extremely high.
